Who is Agnodice?
She was the first female physician in ancient Greece. At that time, women were barred from that role. She trained under Herophilus, dressed as a man and practiced medicine, gaining great popularity among women who did not get medical care because of a fear of male doctors. The other doctors became jealous and accused her of seducing female patients. During the resulting trial she revealed her gender and shut everyone up. She is (probably) a mythological figure since the story has a happy ending.
